WELCOME to the Col des Montets Nature reserve.
Why not discover a natural mountain environment by following the nature trail and seeing what the visitors centre has to offer ?
Here is the gateway to the Aiguilles Rouges Nature reserve.(Entry free of charge other than for groups who have booked a guided visit.)
Along the trail, depending on the season, you will see mountain plants and flowers in their natural environment.
Inside the centre, exhibitions - with microscopes at your disposal- will help the visitor discover some unusual aspects of plants and the secret life of some animal species.
Expert advice from students and the team leader will be on hand, if you require more precise and scientific information.
Books, brochures, leaflets about flora (plants and flowers), fauna, (animal life) and geology (rocks and soils), are also available. Postcards are on sale too, and there is a small café inside the centre.
You could even cycle here. It is more fun and environmentally friendly…..
Directions:
From Annecy or Geneva, follow the signs to Chamonix, then Argentière and take the road leading to Switzerland.
Three kilometres after Argentière, you come to the “Col des Montets”, The Montets Pass, exact location of the chalet and of the Nature Trail.
